The Dubai City Tour highlights the contrasts between the old and the new in this fast growing and exciting city. The tour starts with Jumeirah Mosque, a dominant landmark in Dubai, built in the medieval Fatimid tradition combined with modern building materials. It is the first mosque in Dubai which opened its doors to receiving non-Muslim guests.

Then the tour will take you past the world-renowned 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel, offering excellent photo opportunities. Thereafter you will proceed with a panoramic drive along the longest road in the UAE, the Sheikh Zayed Road, and drive around Burj Khalifa, which holds the current record for the world’s tallest building at a dizzying height of 828 meters, and the Dubai mall. With its 1200 retail outlets, anchor department stores and over 160 food & beverage outlets, it is the worlds‘ largest shopping & entertainment destination.

Thereafter, the Sheikh Zayed Road will take you to the old part of Dubai, the Bastakiya area where guests will be able to admire the old houses with their characteristic wind towers. These structures were designed to cool the buildings in the days before air conditioning. Further, a journey through the city will allow you to visit popular landmarks, such as the eighteenth-century Al Fahidi Fort, which now houses a museum. The museum was opened by the ruler of Dubai in 1971, with the aim of presenting the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai, before the discovery of the oil in the late 60s. It includes local antiquities as well as artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai.

Finally, you will ride the Abra, a typical Arab boat, to cross the Creek and visit the huge gold and spice souks, which offer exquisite gold jewelry at prices lower than anywhere else in the world.
