Transfer to Dubai International Airport for your onward flight to Muscat. Meet and Greet at the regular Meeting point at Muscat International Airport and proceed to, check in to Al Falaj Hotel, Muscat.
Today you will explore Muscat, the clean capital city. A unique blend of the ancient & the modern, Muscat is a beautiful clean city, which lies in the middle of a maze of brown pleated mountains, lulled by the Arabian Sea. The city has undergone dramatic development in the past two or three decades, however, it has never lost its pride in its heritage & culture.
You will start our tour with a visit to the Grand Mosque, which is an architectural marvel and is perhaps the new landmark of the city. You will continue your drive through the ministries area where you can see a number of modern buildings with touches of Islamic architecture.
The Grand Mosque is open from Saturday to Wednesday from 0800- 1100 hrs only. Ladies visiting the Grand Mosque are required to cover their head with a scarf and do not wear shorts, beachwear or sleeveless outfits as they are to be fully covered. Men visiting the Grand Mosque should wear long trousers.
At the heart of Old Muscat is Alam Palace (“Flag Palace”), the most important of the six royal residences of the ruling monarch, Sultan Qaboos, which are dotted around Muscat, Salalah, and Sohar. You can stop for a photoshop here!
Your next visit would be to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which has a fine exhibit of Omani history and culture. Bait Al Zubair (House of Al Zubair) is a private museum that opened its carved wooden doors to the public in 1998.
Finally, you would enter the enchanting Muttrah souq with its narrow covered alleys where the exotic smells of mounds of spices, coffees, ancient remedies, and enticing perfumes fill the air. Muttrah is located in theMuscatprovince ofOman. Before the discovery of oil, Muttrah was the center of commerce in Oman (Muscat). Overnight at Hotel in Muscat.
You will board A/C 4 wheel drive vehicle and travel to Fanjah, for a photo stop of an abandoned village. You will travel through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars. See the ruins of the old mercantile community of Al Mansfah near Ibra. Head towards the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive past the village with its endless date plantations. Reach the magnificent Wadi. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning and the silky water perfect for a dip on the cool water. Picnic lunch among the shades of the trees.
From here, proceed to Wahiba, the undulating golden sands. Indulge in some thrilling Dune Bashing. Visit the Bedouins and haggle for their wares. Return to Muscat and drop off at the pier / Hotel
Travel to Quriyat and over the plateau down the new highway along the coast. Visit Bimah Sinkhole. Drive to Finns Beach which is known as the most beautiful beach in Oman. Swim and relax a while. Continue the drive to Wadi Shab. Take a hike up one of Oman’s scenic wadis (45 minutes each way to the keyhole over an uneven surface). Settle for a picnic lunch among the shades of the trees. Relax a while. Return to Muscat and drop off at the pier / Hotel
A journey to the past through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars and onto the Old Capital of Oman, Travel to Fanjah, for a photo stop of an abandoned village. Continue your journey to Nizwa, famous for its silver souq and a big round fort. After visiting the souq and the fort, proceed to Al Diyar Hotel for a Buffet Lunch.
After lunch, move to Bahla with the huge loam fort which is under renovation at present. Bahla is also known as the pottery capital of Oman. Because of its cultural value, Bahla is placed in the UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. Next visit is Jabrin fort, where you will find one of the most magnificent forts of Oman with its painted ceiling, dungeons, and hidden passages. Return to Muscat and drop off at the hotel
Leave the hotel in the morning after breakfast and check out and proceed to the airport to take your return flight back home with lots of memories from Dubai!
