Muscat, the fascinating capital of Oman shows you more fully Charm. It is also the seat of government and largest city in the Governorate of Muscat. That Oman is famous for its hospitality, white sandy beaches, Oases, bizarre mountains and the large Sand desert “Wahiba sand”.
The population of the city is over 630 000. The rocky Western Al Hajar Mountains dominate the landscape of Muscat. The city lies on the Arabian Sea along the Gulf of Oman. Low-lying white buildings typify most of Muscat´s urban landscape, while the port-district of Muttrah, with its corniche and harbor, form the north-eastern periphery of the city.
An early morning arrival into Muscat International airport where you will be met by German speaking guide after immigration and customs clearance. Transfer to the hotel and followed by check- in. Late breakfast at the hotel (0900 HRS).
In the afternoon, depart for city tour of Muscat. We start visit at Royal opera House and Al Alam Palace. The visit to Mutrah fish market and experience visit traditional Muttrah Souq, where one can buy incense, gold, spices etc (open 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs on Fridays). Muttrah, is located in the Muscat province of Oman. Before the discovery of oil, Muttrah was the center of commerce in Oman (Muscat). It is still a center of commerce as one of the largest sea ports of the region is located there. A short distance brings you then to the bay of Muscat as well as to the. After the city tour transfer to the hotel.

At 0800 HRS checkout from the hotel and proceed to visit the Grand Mosque, which is an architectural marvel and is perhaps the new landmark of the city. You will continue your drive through the ministries area where you can see a number of modern buildings with touches of Islamic architecture. After visit of Mosque begin your round trip towards southern direction.
From here we proceed towards the coast and visit the spectacular Bimah sinkhole which is a limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. We then start on an adventurous route cutting through the mountains. At the end of the drive, Wadi Arbayeen awaits with its deep pools of water set among the date palms.
On the way to Ras Al Hadd you drive along the white Sandy beaches of Fins Beach. After a short photo stop at the Fins Beach, you reach to Wadi Shab/Tiwi. In the afternoon arrival in the port city of Sur, this was once Oman most important East African port. The trade relations go back to the 6th century. Nevertheless, in Oman one can still see Omani built Dhows the traditional boats. After reaching Ras Al Hadd, transfer to your hotel.
1900 hrs dinner at hotel and time for short relaxing 2000 hrs Get together in the lobby of the hotel and departs for Ras Al Junaiyz, a sanctuary for the baby Green Turtles. Escorted by a local naturalist proceed to the beach to watch the turtles nestling on the sands.
Note: Please note that sometimes there are very few turtles and on some occasions in plenty. Return to the hotel around midnight
Note- Grand Mosque is open from Saturday to Thursday from 0800 – 1100 hrs only (last entry at 10:30 hrs). Ladies visiting the mosque are required to cover their head with scarf and do not wear shorts, beachwear or sleeveless outfits as they are to be fully covered. Also need to be covered from head to toe. Men are also to be full covered, though short sleeve shirts are allowed for men. Slip on shoes recommended as one has to remove to enter the mosque.
Breakfast at the hotel and checkout from the hotel at 09:30 HRS. Drive to Ja'alan and on the way visit the villages Bani Bu Hassan and Bani Bu Ali. Afterwards drive to Mintrib. The Wahiba Sands is homeland of The Bedouin families, tribe of the Wahiba breed goats and high-priced racing camels. By 4WD vehicle drive enjoy the roller coaster dunes of the Wahiba Sand and perhaps you may visit a Bedouin family. The overnight stay in a Camp is an unforgettable Experience!
A short relax before going for sunset dune bashing. The ever- changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. Experience a roller coaster like feeling over the dunes.
In the evening, the wafting aromas of the BBQ meals being prepared reach out to the guests. The guests then all sit down to enjoy their meals.
Notes: Light warm comfortable clothing with flat shoes recommended. 4WD’s are licensed to carry up to 4 passengers, excluding the driver. You must wear your seat belts at all times.
Breakfast at the camp and checkout from the camp. At around 08:30 HRS proceed to Nizwa where you will now continue on your journey to the oasis village of Bahla, the center of the pottery art in northern Oman. The village is surrounded by 12 km mud wall that protects the palms and the fort (UNESCO world heritage site - photo stop from outside).
Subsequently, visit the castle of Jabrin in the midst of Palms. It displays the Islamic art in perfection and it was the residence of the Imam Bilarab in 17 Century. Return back to Nizwa.
Arrive Nizwa and check in to hotel in Nizwa & overnight.

At 0830 hrs depart the hotel to visit the impressive New Souq complex has been sensitively designed using Omani fort architecture and elegant Islamic arches. The air-conditioned halls of this souq are full of fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and spices, huge stacks of dates and freshly caught fish. This is still the best place to buy traditional silver “Khanjars” (hand- carved Omani daggers) and Bedouin jewellery, where silver is still sold by weight.
Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a center of trade, religion, education and art. Its Jama (grand mosque) was formerly a center for Islamic learning. Nizwa acquired its importance because it has been an important meeting point at the base of the Western Hajar Mountains.
Set amid a verdant spread of date palms, it is strategically located at the crossroads of routes linking the interior with Muscat and the lower reaches of Dhofar thus serving as the link for a large part of the country. Today, Nizwa is a diverse prosperous place with numerous agricultural, historical and recreational aspects. Nizwa is a center for date growing and is the market place for the area.
Walk to the famous Fort of Nizwa lies in the center of the City. We will visit the village Al Hamra, which is famous for its dark red clay two-story houses. On the surrounding one still sees on hills the isolated watch towers.
The visit “Bait Al Safah" at Al Hamra Al Bait, a castle built during Al Yaaribah era, hundreds of years ago, consisting of four storey and well described in a book by the Omani scholar Yousuf Al Sharouni. Bait Al Safah exhibits of Omani traditional handicrafts reflecting the cultural variation of the Sultanate throughout its rich history. The traditional handicrafts are displayed in such a way as to reflect the changes and developments witnessed through time as well as their connection with the various daily life requirements. Overnight in Nizwa.
Breakfast at the hotel & checkout from the hotel. At 0800 hrs depart to the Oasis of Birkat Al Mauz. There you see during a walk the traditional Irrigation system (Falaj system). Coffee with Date farmer.

After the visit head to Muscat. Proceed for check in to the hotel in Muscat. After dinner at the hotel check out & proceed to the airport.
